I had never used/purchased a mini camcorder before. This one was very easy to setup and understand. The video quality is very good. The touch screen menu is super easy to use. I don't plan on editing my video's, or downloading them onto my PC, so I went with this model. Pretty much, using a DVD-R, it's load, record, finalize. That's it. Then pop it into your DVD player to watch. I guess the limitation is only 30 minutes of recording time on the DVD, but that's plenty for me. Cost of the DVD-R's is about $3.00 each, so that is bearable for me as well. I played around with a DVD-RW. Rewriting the disk was easy, and the VR mode allows you to do some editing if you need to. I would have purchased this item on Amazon, but didn't because I was unsure if I'd be happy with it, so I purchased from a local retailer for about $50 more than I could of from Amazon. I paid $570 for it at the retailer.
